About me

Headshot of Val

My name is Valeria Causo Chalian, and I am thrilled to say that I began my teaching career in 1997. I possess vast experience in teaching Spanish to children and adults, as well as English as a Second Language (ESL). I have studied at universities in Argentina, focusing mainly on translation and Spanish teaching. I am currently centered on obtaining my Masters in Spanish.

You may be interested to know that I have worked with an array of schools and districts along the Peninsula for the last several years, and I have loved every minute of it. In addition, I work with homeschooled children, I have prepared high school students for AP Spanish, both in person and via Zoom, and I also teach privately to families of bilingual children. In addition, I have worked with adults who hold jobs in many fields, teaching them grammar, or practicing conversational skills.

Born in Buenos Aires and raised in Patagonia, Argentina, I moved to California in 2002. I really enjoy reading, watching movies, gardening, hiking, singing, listening to music, and spending time with my husband and two boys, Augusto and Lorenzo.
